Q&A WITH KATE
Why did you become a lawyer?
I really liked to read, write and debate with people, from a very early age. My parents thought it would be good to direct that into something constructive.
Most memorable court room experience?
The first time I walked into a federal court of appeals to argue solo was a truly memorable experience. While I had assisted in a lot of briefing and second-chaired other arguments, my first solo argument was before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and I will never forget the anxiety before the argument, the thrill of the argument, and the relief and glass of wine afterward!
What are 3 things you couldn’t survive without?
My family, my cat, and my partner, Eric Levy.
Favorite Musician or Band?
Let’s go old school and say U2
Favorite thing to do on the weekend?
Read a book (I try to alternate between fiction and nonfiction and have been re-discovering the classics), go hiking with Eric in the fall/winter, and go out on the lake in the spring/summer, since Eric’s favorite thing is to take out his boat.
