Q&A WITH MATTHEW
Why did you become a lawyer?
I wanted to help people improve their individual lives, as well as the lives of their families and community.
Most memorable court room experience?
It isn’t a courtroom in the traditional sense but participating in the United Nations Commission on Human Rights in Geneva, Switzerland was profound. I attended the Commission four different years and assisted human rights advocates and defenders from a number of countries as they presented information and evidence of human rights abuses and violations to UN officials, UN Special Rapporteurs, and US and foreign government officials.
What are 3 things you couldn’t survive without?
My kids, spending time with family and friends, and being able to swim in water (usually a pool but a clean body of water qualifies).
Favorite Musician or Band?
Bach, Cuban Salsa or Van Halen – it usually depends on the time of day although not always.
Favorite thing to do on the weekend?
Relax and workout, catch up with family and friends, travel, do something new.
How long have you been an Attorney at Lynch Carpenter?
I joined the firm in 2018.
