ACCESS IS YOUR
CIVIL RIGHT

For the past decade, Lynch Carpenter has been the go-to counsel for plaintiffs in a substantial number of civil rights cases on behalf of individuals living with disabilities under federal and state accessibility laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Lynch Carpenter seeks to leverage patterns of misconduct that occur within a given industry or business category to increase accessibility on as broad a scale as possible.

These cases have been prosecuted in federal courts throughout the country. The firm has overcome motions to dismiss in more than 30 cases on behalf of individuals living with mobility disabilities. Classes have been certified routinely in these cases. A substantial number of the cases have been settled, and in all of those cases the defendants have agreed to equitable relief calculated to guarantee increased accessibility. Through these litigation efforts, Lynch Carpenter, on behalf of its dedicated clients, has markedly increased accessibility for the disabled community across a myriad of industries and businesses nationwide.

Mobility-DisabledAccessibility

The firm currently is involved in active litigation on behalf of individuals living with mobility disabilities against large corporations such as Autozone, Casey’s, Speedway, Aldi, U-Haul and UBER to name just a few. Transportation Services

Transportation services that are offered to the public must be accessible to individuals with different categories of disabilities. For example, if a hotel offers shuttle services to its guests, the shuttles must be accessible to individuals who use wheelchairs and/or scooters for mobility. If the hotel’s shuttles are not accessible, the hotel must ensure that accessible transportation is offered through a qualified third party. Similarly, Lynch Carpenter believes that app-based transportation services like Uber and Lyft must include an adequate number of accessible transportation options. If you have encountered any issues regarding the accessibility of any type of transportation service, contact us to discuss how we can help.
